Frameless fire-rated glass wall systems
The primary goal of fire-rated and smoke-rated openings is to protect lives, and their design, selection, application, and maintenance come with great responsibility. Therefore, fire-rated and smoke-rated openings, as well as their manufacturing, must meet a number of standards and legal requirements, and proof of compliance must be provided. Alongside these requirements, aesthetic and practical considerations can be taken into account.
Coolfire Ltd.’s expertise, product suitability, and reliability are supported by:
- Being pioneers in introducing aluminum-framed glazed fire-rated and smoke-rated openings in Hungary.
- Over 15 years of market experience.
- The successful application and maintenance of fire-rated openings in numerous buildings, ensuring durability and trouble-free usage.
The Coolfire – FR, BR frameless fire-rated glass wall system is a unique development that eliminates steel and aluminum frames and vertical dividing bars, offering an exclusive, modern, and striking appearance. The absence of frames increases the usable glass surfaces, allowing natural light to be more prominent. Exceptionally large glass panels can be used, making it suitable for replacing non-load-bearing infill walls.
It can also be used as a standalone arched skylight or as a side light for Coolfire – Sapa 74 fire-rated doors.

Indoor application integrated with door - NMÉ marking
When used as a side glazing for a fire-resistant door, the results jointly tested with the door must be taken into account, as specified in the National Technical Approval (NMÉ).
The basis of the National Technical Assessment (NMÉ) includes the fire and smoke resistance test results according to EN 1634-1:2014, EN 1634-2:2014, EN 1634-3:2006, the performance characteristics of interior doors according to the non-harmonized EN 14351-2, classification certificates according to EN 13501-2, the guidelines for automatic doors according to EN 16005 together with the 2006/42/EK Machinery Directive, and manufacturing quality control (ÜGYE).
The Performance Declaration issued based on these standards certifies the properties and performance of the installed product.
Note that CE marking is NOT applicable to internal doors!
Installed door and window units must be labeled with a “Product Identification Plate,” including product identification, the name of the certifying body, NMÉ, ÜGYE, and TÁT number.

For sealing interior fire compartment boundaries with fire-resistant closures, it can be used as a wall, fixed window, side light, or integrated with a glass door.
It can be applied as a glass wall in hallways, arches, and for sealing openings of various sizes:
In public buildings, shopping centers, hospitals, office buildings, and residential buildings, where aesthetic and modern appearance and natural light are important.
It is suitable for use in interior spaces.
The frameless glass wall elements can be connected to the Coolfire-Sapa 74 EI30, EI60, EI90 fire-rated glass door family.
A 2mm gap between the laminated glass panels is filled with intumescent tape, and the external surface is sealed with black fire-resistant silicone. The fixed sides and edges of the wall structure can be finished with gypsum board, painted aluminum profiles, curved sheets, or wooden profiles.
The fire-rated glass can be B1, B2 security rated, insulated, equipped with a “smart” color-changing function, or tinted.
The elements can be arranged in a single plane, aligned at any angle, or form a curved wall.
The system requires the use of special stainless steel fittings for securing the glass panels. After the panels are fixed with screws, bendable tabs ensure the stability of the glass panels.
When selecting the receiving structures, only the types specified in the authorization, based on measurement results, are allowed for the installation of fire-rated openings.
