External-mounted fire-rated glass railing structure, which, when applied to French balcony doors or openings starting from the lower ceiling, provides a barrier against vertical fire spread on the façade. The fire-rated glass railing can be used for vertical fire spread protection in multi-story buildings, most commonly in apartment buildings, at locations where floor-to-ceiling windows are essential for light and views, and where the fire protection is ensured by a structured frame. By aligning several glass panels side by side, it is possible to provide fire protection for larger window sections with greater width and surface area.
