Fire-rated sectional and rolling gates
The primary goal of fire-rated and smoke-rated openings is to protect lives, and their design, selection, application, and maintenance come with great responsibility. Therefore, fire-rated and smoke-rated openings, as well as their manufacturing, must meet a number of standards and legal requirements, and proof of compliance must be provided. Alongside these requirements, aesthetic and practical considerations can be taken into account.
Coolfire Ltd.’s expertise, product suitability, and reliability are supported by:
- Being pioneers in introducing aluminum-framed glazed fire-rated and smoke-rated openings in Hungary.
- Over 15 years of market experience.
- The successful application and maintenance of fire-rated openings in numerous buildings, ensuring durability and trouble-free usage.
Thanks to a unique European innovation, the possibilities for applying motorized sectional and rolling gates have been elevated to new dimensions. The new technology offers a more extensive, cost-effective, higher quality, and longer-lasting solution compared to previous developments. The invention involves a new composite material, which, in addition to its excellent fire-resistant and thermal insulation properties, possesses all the characteristics (rigidity, hardness) necessary to replace the steel-coated panels in sectional and rolling gates. Thanks to the panels’ good fire resistance, they are thinner, which makes the gate leaf lighter, enabling smoother motorized operation, and allowing for a larger opening surface.
The surface is homogeneous, smooth to the touch, paintable, durable, and resistant to corrosion.
The new fire-rated sectional and rolling gate family provides unique, versatile applications across Europe, even for the simplest needs.
Coolfire fire-rated sectional and rolling gates are suitable for closing openings in fire compartment boundaries, whether in interior spaces or facades, in places where the gate not only serves a fire protection function but also where the “gate function” is essential. This includes areas where a closed state is typically required, or there is frequent need for opening and closing, where thermal and acoustic insulation, security, or wind and overpressure resistance are important.
Its aesthetic appearance ensures it fits beautifully even in an elegant, exclusive environment.

Special custom solutions, properties:
The Coolfire fire-rated sectional and rolling gates greatly increase the options available in the field of fire-rated openings, thanks to their functionality.
Fire-rated sectional gate:
- The EI120, 2-hour fire resistance version is now available
- Can be used as a facade gate
- Can be used for the OHD-C SPRINT type, high-speed, intensive use with EI60 and EI90 fire resistance
- Recommended for smoke sealing in smaller sizes (Sa)
- Adapts to building design due to its rail guide variations (standard, raised, vertical)
- Highly resistant to wind pressure and draft effects
- Can be manufactured in small sizes, providing a solution for fire-rated closures in the wall openings of conveyor roller systems
- Can be equipped with flood protection in case of flooding
Fire-rated rolling gate:
- Can be applied to large openings, up to 50m2, with the EI60 fire resistance version, with a maximum width of 9m or a maximum height of 8m
- Highly resistant to wind pressure and draft effects
- Closes even over large areas
Recommended for sealing fire-rated openings in industrial facilities, underground garages, and firewalls on facades, in places where the most important usage consideration is the door’s basic closed position, only needing to be opened for passage.
Due to its favorable price and small space requirement above the opening, it is an excellent solution for fire-rated closures in openings in parking garages, underground garages, logistics halls, warehouses, and factories.
It can only be used on escape routes if equipped with a panic-function personnel door built beside the structure.
Door Leaf: Depending on the door type and fire resistance properties, the sections are made of composite material with excellent characteristics, available in thicknesses of 42, 43, and 60 mm. These are joined together with galvanized high-quality steel hinges. The composite panel surface is smooth to the touch, paintable, with a natural base color close to RAL9002. Available base colors: RAL9002, RAL9006, RAL7016, RAL3000, and custom RAL colors (the RGS rolling gate is made from a steel-covered panel).
Vertical Guide Rails: Made of galvanized steel, available in multiple guide modes: low for smaller spans, standard, raised, and vertical. The fire protection coating is applied at the opening height.
Drive (Motor): The choice of motor depends on the gate’s size, weight, and usage intensity: a tube motor placed on the shaft (230V), or an end shaft drive (230V – 400V). The motor is equipped with standard protection to prevent crushing and finger pinching. In the event of fire, power failure, or fire alarm signal, the gate closes by gravity.
The required side space for installation: For sectional gates, the side space requirement is 155 mm per side, plus the motor space on one side (which varies depending on the type).
For rolling gates, the side space requirement depends on the size: 177, 197, 217, or 237 mm per side for RGC, and 125, 150, 175, or 200 mm per side for RGS.
For detailed technical data and drawings about the door types and installation options, please refer to the Product Page library.
Fire-resistant structures can only be installed based on measurement results and for types specified in the permit.
The Coolfire OHD-C fire-rated sectional doors and Coolfire RGC, RGC fire-rated rolling gates can be installed:
- On concrete or brick walls
- On steel load-bearing structures with fire protection coating/paint finish
Other, custom receiving or supporting structures may also be used, in which case technical and fire protection compliance must be confirmed with a custom statement.
For each application, the design of the load-bearing steel structure must be checked with static calculations.
